Hey, I'm Shelley!

I’m based in Irvine, CA, but I’ve also lived in Lynnwood, WA and grew up in Saint Paul, MN. I grew up with a pet chicken in my suburban backyard—an oddly fitting reflection of my personality, or so I’ve been told. Outside of work, you’ll find me crocheting, painting, joining random sports, diving into simulation games, or curled up with a good book.

My Philosophy

My first word was “why?”—a question that still drives my curiosity and hunger to design intuitive solutions. I combine qualitative and quantitative research to inform solutions centered around the user. I thrive in cross-functional teams, designing experiences that not only work—but connect.

Currently, I’m completing Harvard’s CORe certification in Economics for Managers, Business Analytics, and Financial Accounting to deepen my ability to align great UX with business impact.

Speaking & Mentorship

Just as mentors shaped my journey, I love helping others start theirs. I actively mentor(ed) 3 emerging UX designers and speak on topics like:

  • Compelling Experiences that Sell – Speaker/Panelist

  • Delivering Impact & Storytelling – Speaker/Panelist

  • Job Experience Without Prior Experience – Speaker/Panelist

Catsup Crochets

Any crafter knows that this hobby leads to a stockpile of goods… So I solved that problem by selling my creations to good homes at craft fairs and maker markets!

Content Creation

I also spent two years (2020-2022) as a Twitch and TikTok content creator, building a community where humans could connect:

  • Viral TikTok content (890K+ views, 192K+ likes)

  • 700+ hours streamed on Twitch

  • Built a 1.3K+ follower community with ~20 average viewers

  • Reached Affiliate status in under 2 months, with ~$500/month in revenue

  • Gained hands-on insight into marketing, analytics, content strategy, and conversion funnels

I Started A Pan-Asian Sorority!

In undergrad, I chartered the first midwestern chapter of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc.

This process took 3 years as I led a board of 10 women as their President. The chapter has now grown to 50+ members.

Accomplishments:

  • Pioneered and helped define the interest group expansion process for the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) at the University of Minnesota

  • Awarded “Most Innovative Event” by the MGC for International Women’s Day Event with 300+ attendees, 3 speakers, and 6 tabling organizations

  • Fundraised over $4,000 for the Malala Fund and CARE
